Officials have launched search and rescue efforts in Florida after a series of dangerous tornadoes swept through the region. Kevin Guthrie, director of Florida’s Division of Emergency Management, reported that approximately 125 homes were destroyed prior to the hurricane making landfall, with many of these being mobile homes in senior communities.
St. Lucie County Sheriff Keith Pearson shared a video on Facebook showcasing a massive 10,000-square-foot iron building that was twisted into a crumpled mass by a tornado. This facility housed the sheriff’s office patrol cars, but fortunately, no one was inside when the structure collapsed. Rescue teams are currently working to assess the damage and assist affected residents.
