TAMPA, Fla. — A flash flood emergency, the highest level of flood warning, has been issued for Tampa by the National Weather Service. This alert represents an upgrade from the previously issued considerable flood threat.
According to the NWS, between 10 and 14 inches of rain have fallen, leading to ongoing flash flooding in the area. The situation has been described as “particularly dangerous,” with authorities urging residents to seek higher ground immediately for their safety.
