Tampa, Florida, is experiencing heavy rain and strong winds as Hurricane Milton makes landfall Wednesday night. CNN correspondent Brian Todd reported that the storm had reached its most violent stage in the area.
The intense rainfall is causing flash flooding throughout the city, with approximately six inches already recorded and forecasts predicting an additional eight inches in the coming hours. Overflowing drains, sewers, and canals contribute to rising water levels in the streets.
Todd cautioned that conditions are unsafe for anyone attempting to be outdoors, whether in vehicles or on foot.
